NEWS RELEASE
For Immediate
Release
TML Approved by the
OGC
FAIRFAX,
VA—April 19, 2007—Argon ST, Inc. (NASDAQ: STST), is
proud to announce that its OpenGIS(R) Transducer
Markup Language Implementation Specification (TML) was recently approved by the Open
Geospatial Consortium (OGC) membership and has been released to the public as an
international standard. TML enables
intelligence professionals to quickly combine/fuse disparate data, review the
resulting intelligence, provide for better recommendations to commanders, and,
ultimately, improve the conditions for mission success for all soldiers
involved.
TML was
developed as a non-proprietary way to normalize sensor data and metadata in
order to better enable fusion of disparate information from different domains.
The US Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright Patterson AFB, in conjunction
with the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA), the Open Geospatial
Consortium (OGC), and
TML uses
eXtensible Mark up Language (XML), which is compatible
with search engines and existing tools for visualization and other purposes.
XML, and thus TML, are readable by both humans and software. TML provides a
common way to package any kind of sensor data for transport, archiving, and
processing, thereby “enabling” sensor data for fusion.
Argon ST, Inc.
designs, develops, and produces systems and sensors for the Command, Control,
Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance
(C4ISR) markets including SIGINT (Signals Intelligence), ESM (Electronic Support
Measures), EW (Electronic Warfare), IO (Information Operations), imaging, and
acoustic systems serving domestic and international markets.
